Kenya High Commision

OPENING OF MISSION:

Diplomatic Relations between India and Kenya were started in early 1960s with the appointment of High Commissioners in Nairobi and New Delhi. In 1980 the Defence Adviser’s office was established and the first Defence Adviser was Col. T.G. Mula.

CHANCERY:

The Chancery was first located in Jor Bagh, New Delhi-3 in 1969 and then moved to Defence Colony up to December 1978. Later the Chancery moved to E-66 Vasant Marg from 1978 to 1999. Then it relocated to 34, Paschimi Marg in Vasant Vihar to date.

RESIDENCE:

The High Commissioners had their Residences in various parts of New Delhi i.e. Golf Link, Vasant Vihar Eswar Nagar. The current High Commissioner’s Residence is located in west End Green having moved from 16, Palam Marg, Vasant Vihar on 1 st May 2004.

DIPLOMATIC STAFF:

The Mission has been served by many officers from 1969 to 2005. Some of the officers then are now holding key positions in the Government and also are serving as Ambassadors and High Commis-sioners. A few of them are mentioned below:
